Accommodation
in Moree is very well catered for - 16 motels, 6 hotels, 3 caravan parks and
1 guest house. There are also many clubs, restaurants and, of course, service
stations.Moree is in the centre of Australia's richest agricultural region with cotton, sheep and cattle being the prime products. Many trips around the region will give the visitor access to the cross section of agriculture that is to be found.
The town is also famous for its Hot Spa Baths, said to have many healing
powers. People travel from all over the world to enjoy the theraputic benefits
of the hot springs.
Whilst in the town, there are many places of interest to see. Look at an early
settlers cottage in Mary Brand Park. See the Court House, and the Lands Department
building in Frome Street. The Moree Plains Gallery occupies another heritage
building, the former CBC Bank and is well worth the vist for its variety of
exhibitions. Also in Frome St is the Moree Club, another of the many heritage
buildings to be found. At the Amaroo Tavern in South Moree you can climb aboard
the big plane and experience what it was like for those who traveled in such
aircraft.
